Tapiture gets newest stakes winner in thrilling fashion

Twilight Dancer won a scintillating stretch duel by a head over He’s a Mess in the $100,000 Hard Spun S. at Presque Isle Downs to give the 3-year-old son of Tapiture his first stakes win.

Tapiture now has a half-dozen stakes winners in 2024, with progeny earnings in excess of $4.6 thus far this year. His 110 winners to date is the fourth-most on the General Sire list.

Twilight Dancer was fifth for the first six furlongs before launching his bid midway through the final turn of the 1 mile and 70-yard race. He came four-wide into the stretch and engaged He’s a Mess for the lead in upper stretch. Those two battled the rest of the way, with Twilight Dancer getting the nod to secure the win.

Twilight Dancer was bred and is owned by Warrior’s Reward LLC. The win upped his record to 4-3-1 with earnings of $195,480.
